A couple miles west of Fort Worth sits a great track full of elevation, water, bunkers, and length. Originally designed in 1938 by John Bredemus with upgrades done in 2015 by The John Colligan Team. Rockwood is known among Fort Worth locals to be the best municipal track the city has to offer. We have played here multiple times and are always impressed with the quality that the course has to offer. With plenty of water, peninsula greens & rolling fairways there is a lot to challenge any player. The design in my opinion is magnificent with the front having the 2 harder par 5's but easier par 3's and the back completely opposite. Holes 7-9 are a delight starting with a drive-able par 4, a picturesque par 3 and fun par 4 back in. The back nine doesn't disappoint either with #11 being an awesome layup par 4 dog leg left. #15 is a redan template par 3 that can play very long and difficult depending on the wind. All in all the course is a great design and the property even has a short course you can play if you just want a quick getaway. A brand new clubhouse is currently under construction which leaves us really excited to come back in the future. The temporary clubhouse does its job and even offers hot dogs for the turn. Beverage cart also comes around with beer and snacks for your needs. Rockwood has a large range and amazing Hank Haney learning center.
