Wolfdancer Golf Club
Cedar Creek - TX
Around $150 Weekend A.M.
Walkability score - 1 - Please don't
A great resort course with a solid layout and good amenities
For the money we did expect better conditions on our one time out
Got the chance to get out and play Wolfdancer in Cedar Creek, TX (about 40 minutes from downtown Austin).
This course has been high on our hit list for quite some time so we had to check it out on our first Texas Hackers golf trip.
The course opened in 2006 and was designed by Arthur Hills. It plays 7,205 yards from the tips with some really challenging holes carved into the Austin hill country.
The fairways and greens were in really good shape and the rough played really long, especially around the greens. The tee boxes were in ok shape... some of them were burnt out and pretty sandy.
The amenities were 10/10. The staff was very friendly and they have a halfway house at 1 & 10 tees slinging dogs and ice cold drinks. This is also the first time I’ve ever seen a “jalapeño cheddar sausage wrap”. It’s a sausage in a tortilla wrap... i was skeptical but damn it was tasty 😋
For $140 on the weekend it is worth checking out. The conditions alone don’t warrant that kind of money but the views and the course layout is one of a kind.
