Duck Creek Golf Club
Garland - TX
$50 - Weekend A.M.
Walkability score - 6.5
Duck creek in the past has been hit or miss but the last time we came out in mid summer 2021 it was in good shape and a fun time.
Right on the edge of Richardson and Garland sits a neighborhood course thats affordable and quite fun to play. I have played here before and honestly was not expecting much. The first green was a little rough but after that that all the greens were in great shape. The greens are small, all with some fun undulation. Fairways, bunkers & tee boxes were all in good shape as well. 14 out of 18 holes have water, some very much in play & some not. All have trees in play like most Dallas courses. The course plays pretty short from the back tees at 6,523 yards but many holes have multiple club options to choose from off the tee.
All in all, I was not expecting much since they were one of the only courses to have a tee time available early on a Saturday but I was happily impressed. There are some goofy holes where they really need to cut a tree or two for your approach but overall it plays pretty well. If they put some more money into the clubhouse and practice facility as well as overall tree trimming and landscaping Duck Creek could be a great home course. It’s easy on the wallet, fun & not too far from central Dallas. I would Recommend checking it out especially at $45 for the tee time, it’s hard to beat for a last minute round.
Edit ~ comfortable golf carts added to the experience, especially for camera gear 📸
